Rate Analysis Calculator — BOQ Item Rate vs Schedule of Rates (SOR/DSR)
Rate analysis builds up the cost of one unit of a BOQ item from the materials, labour and sundries it needs, then adds water charges and contractor's overheads and profit — commonly about 15% in CPWD analysis.
Compare your built-up rate with the schedule of rates to decide what percentage above or below estimate to quote.

How this is worked out
Rate = (materials + labour + machinery) × (1 + water %) × (1 + overheads & profit %) ÷ quantity analysed.
Template quantities are typical CPWD-style figures to get you started — adjust them to your specification and site conditions. Compare your rate with the SOR to decide how far below estimate you can safely quote.
Frequently asked questions
